No, Pumpkin....NO!

Sloan and I sit comfortably in a three seater on Metro North. We are happy to return to work for Jessie. Jessie is a makeup influencer. I love makeup. It is going to be a great day.

We walk from Grand Central to Sutton Place. Sutton Place is one of my favorite areas in New York City. A fun and enjoyable walk from Grand Central gets us there in no time flat. It is a nice day. The sun is shining and we are ready to try on make up products!

Jessie's youngest, daughter Kayleigh, open the door for us. Jessie quickly comes up to greet us. She tells us that Kayleigh is home sick from school but that wink, wink, she is actually fine. Oh no. We have had to spend the work day alongside little Kayleigh before. Most of the day will be spent organizing but a large part of the day will also include entertaining an eleven year old. Let's get started!

We hear Pumpkin, the newest addition to the family, come running into the kitchen. Pumpkin is an adorable goldendoodle. She spends much of the day in her crate, except for when the dog walker lets himself into the apartment to take Pumpkin out.

An hour into the day, we hear breakfast demands. What does Kayleigh want? Eggs, a bagel, cereal? Kayleigh does not want anything that is in the very large pantry. Maria, the housekeeper, heads out to the store. Sloan and I look at each other.

Jessie is great at being an influencer. Jessie is very bad at basic home organization. Sloan and I begin sorting like with like. Blushes with blushes, mascaras with mascaras. We go through this process about three times a year. Jessie samples all kinds of makeup brands and products. Lucky! Then, she drops them into nearby clear, plastic bins which await our next arrival.

While we are working, Jessie is trying on all kinds of products. Her face is now bright red from wiping all of these products off of her face. Kayleigh wants to try on some makeup. This is our cue to take our ten minute lunch break.

I grab my lunch from the kitchen counter. Sloan begins to look for her lunch - which she inadvertently left on the floor. Ruh roh. Sloan finds her lunch bag with nothing in it. I begin laughing as I sit down on an uncomfortable bench in the foyer. I see Pumpkin's crate down the hall. Why is there lettuce all over the bottom of the crate? Sloan also starts laughing. She had brought an egg white wrap (the newest healthy food trend) with lettuce and rolled up turkey. Someone is going to be hungry and it ain't Pumpkin! I offer to share my lunch with Sloan. Or, maybe we could ask Maria to grab her something from the market down the street? Nah, Maria has to go out again to get donuts for Kayleigh.
